The GopalKrishna Advanced Rural Research Foundation (GARRF) is an education and research-oriented foundation established with the vision of encouraging scientific thinking, innovation, research and knowledge development among young people, students and emerging researchers.
GARRF seeks to create opportunities for young minds to explore science, engineering, technology and interdisciplinary research. The Foundation aims to encourage students to ask meaningful questions, develop scientific temperament, undertake research projects and transform ideas into practical solutions that can contribute to society.
A particular emphasis is placed on connecting young students with experienced scientists, engineers, academics, researchers and professionals from India and around the world. Through mentoring, research activities, educational initiatives, projects and international collaborations, GARRF aims to create an environment where knowledge can be shared freely and young innovators can grow.
The Foundation also seeks to promote affordable and sustainable technologies that can address real-world challenges, particularly those affecting rural communities, students and developing societies.

GARRF believes that scientific curiosity should begin early. Young students should be encouraged not merely to learn existing knowledge, but also to question, investigate, experiment and create. The Foundation therefore seeks to provide an environment in which young people can discover their potential as scientists, engineers, researchers and innovators.
GARRF has been established with a strong belief in education, scientific enquiry, service and the importance of nurturing young minds.
Dr. Annamdas Venu Gopal Madhav serves as the Chief Scientific Officer of GARRF. He earned his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, holds a Master of Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, completed a MicroMasters programme through the Rochester Institute of Technology (USA), and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Over the past two decades, he has been associated with NTU Singapore as a student, researcher, scientist, faculty member and visiting scholar. His professional journey also includes academic and research experience in Pittsburgh, USA.
His research interests include Structural Health Monitoring, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Smart Infrastructure, Non-Destructive Evaluation, Sensors, Machine Learning and Sustainable Engineering.
A Senior Scientist and Singapore Returnee, Dr. Annamdas brings a strong scientific temperament and international research experience to the Foundation. With a deep commitment to education and scientific enquiry, he started GARRF to promote research, science and scientific thinking among youth and young students , particularly by creating opportunities for learning, experimentation, mentoring and innovation.
His long-term vision is to establish GARRF as a globally respected research organisation that nurtures young innovators, strengthens international collaborations, promotes interdisciplinary research and develops affordable technologies that improve lives and contribute to the sustainable development of Bharat.
Annamdas Shantanu Vasudev Krishna , aged 11, serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GARRF.
His involvement represents the Foundation's commitment to introducing young minds to leadership, education, science, creativity and social responsibility from an early age.
Through GARRF, he is encouraged to observe the world around him, develop curiosity, learn about science and technology, interact with researchers and understand the importance of education and service to society.
His participation in the Foundation reflects an important principle of GARRF: that the next generation should not merely inherit knowledge, but should also be encouraged to question, learn, imagine and contribute.
